iPad 2 smart cover for original iPad 1

It seems that's no difference between first and sec generation iPad. The display size and resolution are the same. Is it possible to get a iPad 2 smart cover for my original iPad 1?The Smart Cover won't work on the original iPad 1. You would be wasting your money.The iPads themselves are not exactly the same dimension. And the new iPad 2 has magnets inside of it help the smart cover attach itself
