How to disable tabbed browsing in Safari on iOS 5

I extremely love the reader feature in Safari on iOS 5, but the tabbed browsing simply takes too much space from the screen on my iPad. The older safari on iOS 4 for tabs was a whole lot better. How to disable tab bar in Safari?Unfortunately, you can't. Is there a way to get the old thumbnail viewer back by jailbreaking iOS 5?
